These days I’ve been starting each day in exactly the same way to support a new routine and to nurture good habits. My body naturally wakes up between 6am and 7am and I take a few moments before putting on some clothes and grabbing my yoga mat to head outside under the shade of the trees while the sun warms the morning to a comfortable 25’C. Sometimes I add some running to the morning routine for an extra fitness boost (but I’m still rehabilitating an old ankle injury so not too much). Feeling ready for the day I return indoors to make a quick refreshing lemon and mint water to help cleanse and stimulate my digestion, rehydrating and cooling down. It’s then time to set up my day and get going.
I’m so thankful I have this time in my life to create these habits for long term wellbeing. I love that I get to build this lifestyle from the ground up. Feeling so grateful.
Here’s a really unnecessary recipe for the lemon & mint water I have each morning (and continue to drink throughout the day).
Lemon & Mint Water:
- Juice from 1/4 Lemon
- Slice of lemon
- Filtered water, chilled
- Freshly picked garden mint
Add lemon juice to chilled filtered water, add slice of lemon and fresh mint.
